If you are an Internet user than you know how vital search engines are to your daily existence. Search engines help people find information, research facts, get directions and find new places, but with so many search engines out there is there really a difference between them all?

The answer to that question is there are slight difference between each search engine that makes them different from each other. Yes, all search engines find websites and display information on keywords but there are little benefits offered by each search engine that make people keep returning to them time and time again.

Here’s a look at some of the differences and benefits of using some of the main search engines.

Google

Everyone has heard the words “Google It” because Google has become a major powerhouse in the search engine field. What makes Google so powerful is its ability to tell if a website is truly information or if it’s one that is placed there by other sites to gain notability. This helps weed out useless websites.

Yahoo Search

Yahoo used to be a powerful search engine before Bing and Google came along. Now Yahoo Search is powered by Bing. What made Yahoo Search a favorite is it offered users the ability to see websites that were similar in nature to the searched keywords. Yahoo also heavily pushed websites that were from their internal database, so users who found those credible would be directed to those types of websites first.

Search engines might all appear alike but they offer slight differences that keep internet users coming back for more.

One of the most overlooked means of getting the best out of a computer is for research and putting together “cutting edge” work that can make a real difference in our lives.

 

Computers have come a long way since they were first thought up in the nineteen forties. Then, they were little more than adding machines, then they became storage facilities with data stored for later retrieval, but you had to go to either the same computer or one linked to the mainframe to retrieve it!

 

With the advent of the internet that idea was done away with and we are now only just beginning to unlock the full potential of these machines!

 

Research done anywhere in the world can be stored on a server and accessed by someone on the other side of the globe merely minutes after it has been stored!

 

Search engines have played a key role in this, people can get onto a Search Engine with only an idea of what they want and within minutes they can access so much information that traditionally it would have taken a lifetime to find!

 

Each one of these has dramatically increased the speed at which knowledge is growing, and as a result it is dramatically improving how we use that knowledge!

 

The internet, and in particular the advent and development of search engines has changed the way that we run our lives. Their impact has gone well beyond just the way that business is done, they have changed life in the twenty first century. The challenge for us is to keep up with those changes.

All of you might have heard about the internet, anybody who hasn’t heard about it is living in a very ignorant state possible indeed. The internet has touched the lives of many people in a very important way, it helps you to communicate with your loved ones who are far away from you and also to do various other tasks which would otherwise have been very difficult.

So what exactly is the internet and how does it work? The internet is, as the name suggests, an inter-network connection between various computers of different places. The term protocol means a set of rules or regulations that the system must follow in order to work in a uniform manner which is essential in such cases.

The main protocol followed is the Transfer Control Protocol and the Internet Protocol. These can be denoted as TCP/IP. The reason why these two are followed is because they are simple and can easily make a uniform internet connection. With these protocols, there are millions of people worldwide who are using the internet on a regular basis without any problems or hassles.

Usually, when you connect to a site, you are being connected to the server and from there you can access the data. When you simplify the whole system you would get a basic computer network with one server and many workstations. The server is hence a very important part of the internet. If anything happens to the server the whole network gets affected.

The best example of a server being down is when you try to access some site you would get it as either problem at the server or try again. These are instances when the users can’t access the internet and have their work interrupted.
